A startup and our office.

When we started working on Confer, we were the definition of bootstrappers. We worked day jobs and got together every night in someone’s basement, at Panera Bread, or Starbucks and planned, chatted, coded, etc. We knew we would need to raise capital eventually, but for the first few months, we were on a path.

A few months in, we were suddenly funded and had to make the transition from awesome hobby project to actual business. This included finding an office space that wouldn’t break the bank.

Luckily for us, we’re in Ohio where commercial real-estate isn’t quite as competitive as in other metro areas. After a couple weeks of digging, working connections, and negotiation we found a great space, about a thousand square feet, and cheap. We pre-paid thirteen months of rent + utilities for just over $6,000.

I know huh? Cheap.
